More information about Pinot Noir Hemel-en-Aarde - Hamilton Russell

Hamilton Russell's Pinot Noir from South Africa's Walker Bay wine region in Cape South Coast is an excellent, impressive and varietal red wine.

In the glass, this wine glows a dark ruby red with purple highlights. The nose delights in a bouquet that boasts dark, spicy, concentrated and complex fruit aromas. Black cherries meet black currant and noble plum - perfectly complemented by mineral nuances. The oak is incredibly well integrated into the dense body, skillfully supporting the black berry fruit and mineral tannins. This South African red wine has tremendous length to balance the richness and opulence.

Vinification of the Hemel-en-Aarde Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir

The Pinot Noir grapes for this red wine grow on stony, clay-rich and slate soils in the South African vineyard Hemel-en-Aarde.

The grapes are first prepared for fermentation in stainless steel tanks in the winery of Hamilton Russell. After the alcoholic fermentation is completed, the malolactic fermentation follows. For the wood aging exclusively barriques (volume: 228 liters) from French oak are used. In these, this wine matures for a total of 10 months.

Food recommendation for the Hamilton Russell  Pinot Noir

This South African red wine from South Africa is excellent with fillet of beef and game birds such as quail, pigeon or pheasant.
