Vinification of the Hemel-en-Aarde Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir
The Pinot Noir grapes for this red wine grow on stony, clay-rich and slate soils in the South African vineyard Hemel-en-Aarde.
The grapes are first prepared for fermentation in stainless steel tanks in the winery of Hamilton Russell. After the alcoholic fermentation is completed, the malolactic fermentation follows. For the wood aging exclusively barriques (volume: 228 liters) from French oak are used. In these, this wine matures for a total of 10 months.
