More information about Pomerol AOP - Château L'Église-Clinet

The multiple award-winning Pomerol from the Bordeaux winegrowing region presents itself in the glass with a dense purple red. Poured into a Bordeaux glass, this Old World red wine displays wonderfully expressive aromas of blackberry, rounded off by vanilla, cedarwood and licorice.

Château L'Église-Clinet Pomerol presents itself to the wine lover as wonderfully dry. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. Powerful and multi-layered, this velvety red wine shows on the palate. On the finish, this wine from the Bordeaux winegrowing region delights with considerable length. Hints of blackberry appear once again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the gravel-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of Château L'Église-Clinet Pomerol

The powerful Pomerol from France is a cuvée made from the grape varieties Cabernet Franc and Merlot. In Bordeaux, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on gravel soils. The grapes for this red wine from France are harvested exclusively by hand at optimal ripeness. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Pomerol from Château L'Église-Clinet

This French red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, vegetable couscous with beef meatballs, or boeuf bourguignon.
