More information about Prestige Grauburgunder dry - Bergdolt-Reif & Nett

The Prestige Grauburgunder from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett in the Pfalz reveals a bright, copper-golden color when swirled in the glass. The color of this white wine also shows golden-yellow reflections at its core. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. In the glass, this white wine from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett offers aromas of grapefruits, green apples, and pineapple, complemented by toasted wood. This wine captivates with its elegantly dry taste profile. It has been bottled with 5 grams of residual sugar. As one would expect from a wine in the Icon wine segment, this German wine delights with its finest balance, despite its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. Balanced and complex, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. Its lively fruit acidity makes the Prestige Grauburgunder exceptionally fresh and vibrant on the palate. The finish of this well-aging white wine from the Pfalz region, specifically from Duttweiler, ultimately convinces with a considerable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the clay and loess-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Bergdolt-Reif & Nett Prestige Grauburgunder

The foundation for the balanced Prestige Grauburgunder from the Pfalz is grapes from the Grauburgunder variety. In the Pfalz, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and loess soils. Clearly, the Prestige Grauburgunder is influenced by more than just the Duttweiler soil. This German wine can certainly be described as a wine of the Old World, presenting itself exceptionally aromatic. When perfect physiological ripeness is ensured, the grapes for the Prestige Grauburgunder are harvested exclusively by hand, without the aid of coarse and hardly selective grape harvesters. After harvesting, the grapes are swiftly brought to the winery. Here, they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the fermentation is complete, the elegant Prestige Grauburgunder is aged for several months in barriques and 500-liter oak barrels.

Food Recommendation for the Bergdolt-Reif & Nett Prestige Grauburgunder

This German white wine should be enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly with omelette with salmon and fennel, fried trout with ginger-pear, or leek tortilla.
