More information about Reunion Vision - Kracher
The Reunion Vision, aged in barrel and hailing from the Burgenland wine-growing region, presents itself in the glass in dense purple. When the glass is tilted slightly, a transition in hue towards garnet red can be seen at the rim of this barrel-aged wine. Swirling the glass reveals this red wine’s high viscosity, visible in the church windows on the glass wall. The first nose of Reunion Vision flatters with mulberries, blueberries, and morello cherries. Joining the fruity components of the bouquet are notes from barrel aging such as sun-warmed rock and forest floor.
On the palate, Reunion Vision from Kracher opens pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven, and balanced. Some wines are dry on the label, others truly are. This red wine belongs to the latter group, as it was bottled with only 1.1 g of residual sugar. Thanks to its lively acidity, Reunion Vision appears wonderfully fresh and vibrant on the palate. The finish of this matured red wine from the Burgenland wine-growing region, more precisely from Lake Neusiedl, ultimately convinces with a lovely aftertaste.
Vinification of Kracher Reunion Vision
The powerful Reunion Vision from Austria is a varietal wine, vinified from the Blaufränkisch grape variety. It is quite clear that Reunion Vision is shaped by more than just the soil of Lake Neusiedl. This Austrian wine can literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive manner. The development of the grapes for this Blaufränkisch wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Burgenland, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a more moderate must weight. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for 16 months in French oak barrels.
