The barrel-aged Ribera de los naranjos from the wine-growing region of Galicia presents itself in the glass in a bright purple-red. The bouquet of this red wine from Galicia enchants with nuances of orange and blackberry. Pursuing the aromatics further, cocoa and pepper join in.

On the palate, Ribera de los naranjos from Finca Míllara starts off delightfully aromatic, fruit-driven and well balanced. There is dry and really dry. This red wine belongs to the latter, as it was bottled with only 2.3 g of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully creamy. Thanks to the moderate acidity, Ribera de los naranjos caresses the palate with a pleasing mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time. The finish of this red wine from the Galicia region, more precisely from Ribeira Sacra DO, ultimately impresses with a good length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the slate-dominated soils.

Vinification of Finca Míllara Ribera de los naranjos

The basis for the balanced Ribera de los naranjos from Spain is grapes from the Garnacha and Mencia varieties. In Galicia, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on slate soils. When they are perfectly ripe, the grapes for Ribera de los naranjos are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of strenuous and imprecise machinery. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for Finca Míllara Ribera de los naranjos

This Spanish red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to leek soup, vegetable stew with pesto or pumpkin casserole.
