Vinification of the Weingut Manz Riesling Kalkstein
The basis for the elegant Riesling Kalkstein from Rheinhessen are grapes from the Riesling grape variety. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of limestone and marl. After manual harvesting, the grapes arrive quickly at the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
