More information about Roter Veltliner Wagramterrassen - Weingut Josef Fritz
With the Josef Fritz Roter Veltliner Wagramterrassen, a first-class white wine flows into the crystal-clear glass. There it displays a wonderfully radiant, golden-yellow color. This varietal Austrian wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of pineapple and ripe apple in the glass. Added to this are hints of watermelon and honey.
On the palate, Josef Fritz’s Roter Veltliner Wagramterrassen starts off pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven, and well balanced. On the tongue, this harmonious white wine is characterized by an extraordinarily light, crisp, and fleshy texture. The finish of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Lower Austria, more precisely from Wagram, ultimately convinces with a lovely aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral hints from the loess-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Roter Veltliner Wagramterrassen by Josef Fritz
This wine clearly places its focus on a single grape variety, namely Roter Veltliner. Only first-class grape material was harvested for this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from Josef Fritz. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on loess soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures follows. Vinification is followed by several months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally bottled.
