More information about Weissburgunder halbtrocken - Rotwild

The Rotwild Pinot Blanc from the house of Peter Mertes in Rheinhessen presents a brilliant, pale yellow color in the swirling glass. This varietal German wine flatters the nose in the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of quince, pear, nashi pear and apple. There are also hints of walnut, brittle and roasted hazelnut.

On the palate, the light-footed Peter Mertes Rotwild Pinot Blanc reveals an incredibly fruity taste, which is of course due to its off-dry flavor profile. Light-footed and multi-layered, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to its present acidity, the Rotwild Pinot Blanc appears wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this white wine from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region delights with beautiful length. Once again, hints of pear and quince appear.

Vinification of the Peter Mertes Rotwild Pinot Blanc

The basis for the elegant Rotwild Pinot Blanc from Germany is grapes of the Pinot Blanc variety. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Rotwild Pinot Blanc can continue to harmonize for several months on the fine lees. Once the wine is finished, the Rotwild Pinot Blanc is gently harmonized.

Food recommendation for the Peter Mertes Rotwild Pinot Blanc

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with spaghetti with yogurt-mint pesto, fruity endive salad or fried trout with ginger-pear.
