More information about Sauvignon Blanc Kalkstein - J. Trautwein
The biodynamically produced Sauvignon Blanc Kalkstein from the house of J. Trautwein comes into the glass with a bright light yellow color. On the nose, this J. Trautwein white wine presents all kinds of gooseberries. As if that weren't already impressive, further aromas such as green bell pepper and minerals join in.
This wine tastes pleasantly dry. It was bottled with 6.2 grams of residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities, and thus this German wine, despite all its dryness, delights with the finest balance. Flavor does not necessarily need sugar. Thanks to its present fruit acidity, Sauvignon Blanc Kalkstein reveals itself on the palate as wonderfully fresh and lively. The finish of this white wine from the Rheinhessen wine-growing region ultimately captivates with a beautiful aftertaste. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the limestone- and clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of J. Trautwein Sauvignon Blanc Kalkstein
The basis for the well-balanced Sauvignon Blanc Kalkstein from Germany is grapes of the Sauvignon Blanc variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Rheinhessen. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of limestone and clay. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete .
