The elegant Spätburgunder from Weingut Juwel comes into the glass with a bright ruby-red color. When swirling the glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from Germany offers wonderfully expressive aromas of tobacco, leather, blackcurrant and green walnut, rounded off by toasted barrique, sun-warmed rock and oak wood.
This red from Weingut Juwel is perfect for all those who like as little sweetness in wine as possible. Nonetheless, it never appears austere or harsh. Thanks to its present acidity, the Spätburgunder appears wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this well age-worthy red wine from the Rheinhessen winegrowing region ultimately convinces with an exceptional length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral facets from the limestone marl-dominated soils.
Vinification of Weingut Juwel Alsheim Spätburgunder
This red wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir). For this wonderfully balanced, single-varietal wine from Weingut Juwel, only first-class grape material was harvested. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on limestone marl soils. The ripeness of the harvested grapes for this Spätburgunder wine is significantly influenced by the climate of the growing region. In Rheinhessen, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Spätburgunder is aged for several months in oak barrels.
