More information about The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon - d'Arenberg
The Coppermine Road Cabernet Sauvignon from d'Arenberg is a stylish, excellent, single varietal red wine from the Australian wine region of McLaren Vale in Adelaide.
This wine has a deep dark purple color with purple highlights in the glass. The classic Cabernet aromatics of black currant leaves, violets and cigar box unfold on the nose with an interesting suggestion of cooking spices and mustard seeds.
These wonderfully savory notes continue on the palate, where they are underpinned by a sweet currant and mulberry fruitiness that continues to build in the glass. The initially cedary tannins make for an exceptional start on the palate. A fascinating fennel note accompanies the chalky tannins in the long and persistent finish.
As it ages in the bottle, the wine gains more and more harmony and complex sensations of chocolate, truffle, cigar box and earth. The considerable structure and depth ensures that the fruit character evolves.
Vinification of the Cabernet Sauvignon Coppermine Road d'Arenberg
Once the vintage arrives at the d'Arenberg winery, the grapes are gently crushed in small batches and sent to open fermenters. Two-thirds of this wine is foot-stomped during fermentation. Then this wine is pressed into a basket and placed in new and used French oak barrels to complete the fermentation process. After that, this wine remains in the barriques for some time.
Without fining and filtration, this red wine is bottled.

The name The Coppermine Road
