More information about Weißburgunder trocken - Martin Waßmer

The Pinot Blanc from the Baden wine-growing region shows a bright light yellow color in the glass. This single-varietal German wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of apples, nashi pear, peaches and vineyard peach in the glass. These are joined by hints of green peppers, Mediterranean herbs and juniper.

This dry white wine from Martin Waßmer is ideal for purists who like it absolutely dry. The Pinot Blanc already comes quite close to this, it was vinified with just 1.5 grams of residual sugar. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Pinot Blanc presents itself impressively fresh and lively on the palate.

Vinification of the Pinot Blanc by Martin Waßmer

The balanced Pinot Blanc from Germany is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Pinot Blanc grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loam and loess. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Pinot Blanc are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the grape harvest, the grapes are taken to the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the Pinot Blanc from Martin Waßmer

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompaniment to coconut-lime fish curry, fruity endive salad or vegetable salad with beetroot.
