Birkweiler Keuper Chardonnay - Dr. Wehrheim

The Birkweiler Keuper Chardonnay from Dr. Wehrheim in the Palatinate reveals a bright, golden-yellow color in the swirled glass. Vinification of the Dr. Wehrheim Birkweiler Keuper Chardonnay

This balanced white wine from Germany is made from the Chardonnay grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. Birkweiler Keuper Chardonnay is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The development of the grapes for this wine from Chardonnay is influenced to a very high degree by the climate of the growing region. In the Palatinate, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and evenly ripened grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the pressing house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows at controlled temperatures.
