More information about Blaufränkisch Ungerberg Burgenland - Paul Achs

The Blaufränkisch Ungerberg Burgenland from Paul Achs in Burgenland reveals a bright, purple color in the glass. When swirling the glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. This single varietal Austrian wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of blueberries, plums, jasmine and lavender. These are joined by hints of vanilla, oriental spices and cinnamon.

The Paul Achs Blaufränkisch Ungerberg Burgenland impresses with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a WeinIcon wine segment, this Austrian naturally enraptures with the finest balance for all its dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need sugar. Balanced and complex, this fleshy and dense red wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the wine-growing region of Burgenland, which is capable of aging, finally convinces with a beautiful reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by clay and sand.

Vinification of the Blaufränkisch Ungerberg Burgenland from Paul Achs

The basis for the balanced Blaufränkisch Ungerberg Burgenland from Burgenland are grapes from the grape variety Blaufränkisch. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Burgenland. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of clay and sand. After manual harvesting, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Blaufränkisch Ungerberg Burgenland is aged for several months in oak barriques.
