More information about Celeste Tempranillo Reserva DO - Miguel Torres

In the glass, the Celeste Tempranillo Reserva from Miguel Torres shows a dense ruby color. Holding the glass at a slight angle, a transition of hue towards garnet red can be seen at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. When swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in church windows at the rim of the glass. This single varietal Spanish wine displays wonderfully fragrant and complex notes of black cherries, plums, plum jam and rum pot in the glass. These are joined by hints of cinnamon, gingerbread spice and cigar box.

The Miguel Torres Celeste Tempranillo Reserva delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with just 0.9 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the top wine range, this Spaniard naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the tongue, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety, fleshy and dense texture. Due to its vital fruit acidity, the Celeste Tempranillo Reserva is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this mature red wine from the wine-growing region of Castile - León finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of rum pot and plum.

Vinification of the Miguel Torres Celeste Tempranillo Reserva

The basis for the powerful Celeste Tempranillo Reserva from Castilla - León are grapes from the Tempranillo grape variety. Celeste Tempranillo Reserva is an Old World wine through and through, as this Spaniard breathes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Celeste Tempranillo Reserva are harvested exclusively by hand without the aid of crude and less selective machinery. After the harvest, the grapes arrive at the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Celeste Tempranillo Reserva is aged for another 36 months in French and American oak barriques.
