Chardonnay - Gnarly Head

Gnarly Head's Chardonnay is a varietal, fresh-fruity and vibrant white wine from the North American wine region of California. 

In the glass this wine shines in a golden yellow color with sparkling reflections. The nose is caressed by a fresh bouquet. Intense aromas of freshly grated lemon peel, juicy honeydew melon and a hint of toasty aromas are revealed. On the palate, citrus fruits are joined by crisp apple and vanilla. This American white wine convinces on the palate with its full-bodied character, crisp acidity and juicy texture. The well-balanced finish has a pleasant length. 

Vinification of the Gnarly Head Chardonnay

The Chardonnay grapes come from vineyards  in Lodi and Monterey. 

Already in the early morning hours the harvest for the grapes begins. Immediately, the grapes are taken to the Gnarly Head winery, pressed from the skins and put into the fermentation tank. Alcoholic fermentation for this white wine takes place in stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is undergone by 25% of this Chardonnay. 

Food recommendation for the Chardonnay from Gnarly Head

This dry white wine from California is an excellent companion to Indian chicken curry with rice, shrimp fresh off the grill or even Spaghetti Carbonara.
