More information about Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir - Marisco

With the Marisco Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir comes a first-class red wine in the glass. It offers a wonderfully dense, light red color. At the edge, there is also a color transition to garnet red. The nose of this red wine from New Zealand's South Island delights with notes of blueberry, blackberry, black currant and mulberry. If we trace the aromatics further, toasted barrique, cigar box and firewood come through, encouraged by the oak influence.

The Marisco Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir presents itself wonderfully dry to the wine lover. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine icon wine segment. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir flatters with a soft palate feeling, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time.

Vinification of the Marisco Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Marisco. On New Zealand's South Island, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and limestone. Due to the balancing influence of the nearbyRiver, the grapes ripen more slowly and more aromatic partiality. The ripeness of the grapes for this Pinot Noir wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In New Zealand South Island, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and a rather moderate must weight. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the completion of fermentation, the Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir is aged for another 11 months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Marisco Craft Series The Journey Pinot Noir

This New Zealander is best enjoyed tempered at 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to braised chicken in red wine, roasted calf's liver with apples, onions and balsamic vinegar sauce or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
