More information about Pinot Noir Seddon Single Vineyard - Villa Maria

The light-footed Pinot Noir Seddon Single Vineyard from Villa Maria shines into the glass with a brilliant light red. Swiveling the glass, this red wine is characterized by a delightful lightness that makes it dance jauntily in the glass. To the nose, this Villa Maria red wine presents all manner of black cherries, plums, plum marshmallows, violets and lilies. As if that weren't already impressive, the aging in small wooden barrels adds more aromas like sun-warmed rock and forest floor.

This New Zealand wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with exceptionally little residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this New Zealander naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this light-bodied red wine is wonderfully silky, velvety and dense. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of New Zealand South Island, more precisely from Marlborough, finally convinces with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Villa Maria Pinot Noir Seddon Single Vineyard

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Noir. Only top quality grapes were harvested for this wonderfully elegant single varietal wine from Villa Maria. The berries for this red wine from New Zealand are harvested exclusively by hand at the time of optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for 14 months in French barriques.
