More information about d'Arry's Original Shiraz Grenache - d'Arenberg
d'Arry's Original from d'Arenberg, from the Australian wine-growing region McLaren Vale in South Australia, is a spicy, fragrant and harmonious red wine cuvée, vinified from the grape varieties Shiraz and Grenache.
In the glass, this wine shimmers in a dark ruby-red to violet color and offers all the typical characteristics of a traditional d'Arenberg blend. The nose is filled with a range of complex, dark, sweet and savory notes reminiscent of plums, licorice, nutmeg and a slight hint of cedar. The palate is concentrated and rounded with velvety tannins, but at the same time with a touch of beautiful, fine, unpolished tannins that are characteristic of a Grenache from d'Arenberg. The initially dense flavor profile, which slowly opens up, unfolds and immediately reveals juicy mulberry and plum aromas, linked with exotic and delicately mineral nuances.
Vinification of the Shiraz Grenache d'Arry's Original d'Arenberg
The grapes for this cuvée are harvested very carefully and brought immediately to the d'Arenberg winery. There, the harvested fruit is gently crushed in small batches and then transferred to open fermenters. For two thirds of the fermentation process, the grapes are foot-trodden. Subsequently, this red wine is basket-pressed and placed in used French oak barrels to complete fermentation. In the barrel, this wine continues to ferment on the lees.
Food recommendation for d'Arenberg d'Arry's Original

The name d'Arry's Original
This wine owes its name to Francis d'Arenberg Osborn, also called d'Arry, the head of d'Arenberg. His services to the Australian wine industry earned him the title of Patron of the Winemakers Federation of Australia and helped him receive the honorary award "Order of Australia".
