More information about Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc - Weingut Josef Leitz

The Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc, matured in barrel, from the Rheingau wine-growing region presents itself in the glass in a bright light yellow. The first nose of the Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc reveals nuances of passion fruit, elderberry and gooseberries. Notes from the barrel maturation, such as kiwi, join the fruity components of the bouquet.

The Weingut Josef Leitz Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc presents itself to the wine lover as delightfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or austere, as one might expect from a wine in the high-quality category. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp. Thanks to its lively acidity, the Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc reveals itself on the palate as impressively fresh and vibrant. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Rheingau region finally delights with considerable length. Once again, hints of gooseberry and passion fruit appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone- and loess-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Weingut Josef Leitz Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc

This balanced white wine from Germany is vinified from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Rheingau. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of limestone and loess. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Eins-Zwei-Dry Sauvignon Blanc from Weingut Josef Leitz

This German wine is perfectly suited as a pairing with asparagus salad with quinoa, spinach gratin with almonds or chickpea curry.
