More information about Grauschiefer Riesling trocken - Jakob Schneider

The Jakob Schneider Grauschiefer Riesling is a first-class white wine. It offers a wonderfully bright, light yellow color. The first nose of the Grauschiefer Riesling shows nuances of peaches and lemons. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as even more fruity-balsamic nuances.

On the palate, Jakob Schneider's Grauschiefer Riesling starts out wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Balanced and multilayered, this crisp and light white wine presents itself on the palate. With its present fruit acidity, the Grauschiefer Riesling is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this white wine from the wine-growing region of the Nahe, which has good aging potential, finally impresses with good reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral facets of the slate-dominated soils.

Vinification of the Grauschiefer Riesling from Jakob Schneider

The balanced Grauschiefer Riesling from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Riesling grape variety. In the Nahe region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of slate. After harvesting, the grapes are taken to the press house in the fastest possible way. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a few months of aging on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for Jakob Schneider Grauschiefer Riesling

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to asparagus salad with quinoa, chickpea curry or pumpkin casserole.
