More information about Grauburgunder vom Kalkstein trocken - Seckinger

The limestone Pinot Gris from Seckinger in the Palatinate reveals a brilliant, light yellow color in the wine glass. To the nose, this Seckinger white wine shows all sorts of Mon Cheri cherry, quince, pear, nashi pear and rum pot. As if that wasn't impressive enough, the stainless steel aging adds more aromas like oriental spices, sun-warmed rocks and black tea.

The Seckinger Kalkstein Grauburgunder presents itself to the connoisseur wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the upper price range. The fruit acid of the limestone Pinot Gris is wonderfully restrained and makes this wine wonderfully smooth. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of wild berry jam and Mon Cheri cherry show. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Seckinger Kalkstein Pinot Gris

This elegant white wine from Germany is organically vinified from the Pinot Gris grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of limestone. After the grape harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After completion of fermentation, the limestone Pinot Gris is allowed to further harmonize on the fine lees for several months.

Food recommendation for the Seckinger Kalkstein Pinot Gris

Enjoy this organic white wine from Germany ideally well chilled at 8 - 10°C as an accompaniment to cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables, pasta with sausage dumplings or chickpea curry.
