More information about Martin Schmidt Spätburgunder trocken - Weingut Kiefer

In the glass, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir from Weingut Kiefer reveals a bright light red color. This single varietal German wine reveals wonderfully expressive notes of black currant, blackberry, morello cherry and black cherry in the glass. These are joined by hints of gingerbread spice, dark chocolate and cocoa bean.

This dry red wine from Weingut Kiefer is just right for wine lovers who like their wine dry. The Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir already comes very close to this, it was vinified with just 3.5 grams of residual sugar. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir flatters with a soft mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time.

Vinification of the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir from Weingut Kiefer

The balanced Martin Schmidt Spätburgunder from Germany is a single varietal wine, vinified from the Spätburgunder grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay, loess soil and volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Martin Schmidt Pinot Noir can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.

Food recommendation for the Martin Schmidt Spätburgunder from Weingut Kiefer

This German wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to lamb stew with chickpeas and dried figs, braised chicken in red wine or osso buco.
