In the glass, the Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Weingut Franz Keller offers a brilliantly shimmering copper-gold colour. In the glass, this white wine from Weingut Franz Keller offers aromas of mangos, physalis, peaches, guavas and nectarines, complemented by vanilla, black tea and dark chocolate. The Weingut Franz Keller Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder inspires with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 0.9 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this German wine naturally enraptures with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily need sugar. Due to its lively fruit acid, the Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder reveals itself exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region Baden finally inspires with a good length. Again, there are hints of physalis and peach. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soil dominated by volcanic rock and loess soil are added.
Vinification of the Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Weingut Franz Keller
The elegant Oberbergener Bassgeige Grauburgunder from Germany is a single-varietal wine made from the Pinot Gris grape variety. In Baden, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess soil and volcanic rock. After the grape harvest, the grapes reach the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by a few months of maturation on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.
