The Riesling Beerenauslese from Karl Pfaffmann in the Palatinate presents a brilliant, pale yellow color in the glass. In its core, this wine also displays reflections. When swirled in the glass, this dessert wine is characterized by a fascinating lightness that lets it dance nimbly in the glass. The first nose of the Riesling Beerenauslese reveals apricots, lemongrass and prunes. In addition to the fruity components of the bouquet, further fruity-balsamic nuances join in.
On the palate, Karl Pfaffmann’s Riesling Beerenauslese reveals an incredibly fruit-driven flavor, which is of course also due to its residual sweetness profile. On the palate, the texture of this light-footed dessert wine presents itself as wonderfully dense. Thanks to its lively fruit acidity, the Riesling Beerenauslese appears exceptionally fresh and vibrant on the palate. On the finish, this excellently age-worthy dessert wine from the winegrowing region of the Palatinate finally delights with considerable length. Hints of lemongrass and lemon once again become apparent.
Vinification of Karl Pfaffmann Riesling Beerenauslese
The elegant Riesling Beerenauslese from Germany is a pure varietal wine, vinified from the Riesling grape variety. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Riesling Beerenauslese can continue to harmonize for a few months on the fine lees.
