The ST #52 Pinot Gris from Weinhaus Steffen of the Moselle offers a brilliant, copper-gold color in the wine glass. To the nose, this Weinhaus Steffen white wine presents all sorts of quince, morello cherry, apples, pears and plums. As if that wasn't already impressive, the stainless steel aging adds more flavors like whole nut chocolate, roasted almond and brittle.

This dry white wine from Weinhaus Steffen is for people who like it absolutely dry. The ST #52 Pinot Gris already comes very close to this, as it was pressed with just 7.1 grams of residual sugar. Light-footed and multi-layered, this light and silky white wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its present fruit acidity, the ST #52 Pinot Gris presents itself wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this storable white wine from the wine-growing region of the Mosel finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of pear and nashi pear show through.

Vinification of the wine house Steffen ST #52 Pinot Gris

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Gris. Only the best grapes were used for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Weinhaus Steffen. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the ST #52 Pinot Gris are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the ST #52 Pinot Gris can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for a few months.

This white wine from Germany is best enjoyed moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C. It is perfect as a companion to omelet with salmon and fennel, fruity endive salad or wok vegetables with fish.
