More information about Steinbock Pinot Noir - Weingut Hörner
The Steinbock Pinot Noir from Weingut Hörner in the Palatinate offers a bright, light-red color in the glass. Poured into a Burgundy goblet, this Old World red wine reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of raspberry, rounded off by eucalyptus, toasted wood, and black cherry contributed by barrel aging.
This red from Weingut Hörner is ideal for all wine lovers who prefer as little residual sweetness as possible. At the same time, it never appears meager or austere, as one might naturally expect from a wine. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an immensely dense and fleshy texture. Thanks to the moderate acidity, the Steinbock Pinot Noir caresses the palate with a pleasing feel without sacrificing freshness. The finish of this red wine, which has good aging potential and comes from the winegrowing region of the Palatinate, more precisely from Hochstadt, is ultimately impressive with its remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral nuances from the loess and clay-dominated soils.
Vinification of Weingut Hörner Steinbock Pinot Noir
The basis for the well-balanced Steinbock Pinot Noir from Germany is grapes of the Pinot Noir variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of clay and loess. The grapes for this German red wine are harvested exclusively by hand at optimal ripeness. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately brought to the press house, where they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine matures for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
Food pairing for Weingut Hörner Steinbock Pinot Noir
