The basis for the powerful Triennia de Portia Ribera del Duero from Spain is grapes of the Tempranillo variety. It is obvious that Triennia de Portia Ribera del Duero is also shaped by the climate and winemaking style of Ribera del Duero DO. This Spaniard can in the best sense of the word be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive manner. The development of the harvested grapes for this Tempranillo wine is influenced to a not inconsiderable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Castile and León, the grapes thrive in a warm climate, which is reflected, among other things, in particularly well-ripened grapes and a relatively high must weight. After the harvest, the grapes are brought to the winery immediately. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in large wooden vats at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the powerful Triennia de Portia Ribera del Duero is aged for several months in French oak barrels. After the wine is finished, Triennia de Portia Ribera del Duero is gently harmonized.
