More information about Lugana DOC - Antiche Terre
In the glass, the Lugana from Antiche Terre presents a bright light-yellow color. On the nose, this Antiche Terre white wine displays all sorts of mango, pineapple, papaya, roses, and violets. As if that weren’t already impressive, aging in stainless steel also brings notes of forest floor and sun-warmed stone.
This dry white wine from Antiche Terre is ideal for wine lovers who prefer their wines bone-dry. The Lugana comes very close to this, as it was vinified with just 3.5 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, this well-balanced white wine is characterized by an exceptionally crisp and silky texture. Thanks to its moderate acidity, the Lugana caresses the palate with a soft mouthfeel, without lacking juicy liveliness at the same time. The finish of this white wine from the Veneto wine-growing region, more precisely from the Lugana DOC, ultimately convinces with a pleasant aftertaste.
Vinification of Antiche Terre Lugana
This wine clearly places its focus on a single grape variety, namely Trebbiano. For this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Antiche Terre, only the best grape material was used. At optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Lugana are harvested exclusively by hand, without the use of coarse, non-selective machinery. After harvesting, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.
Food recommendation for Antiche Terre Lugana
This Italian wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8–10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with baked feta cheese parcels, red onions stuffed with couscous and apricots, or a fruity endive salad.
