This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and thus, despite its dryness, this Spaniard fascinates with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily need a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly meaty and creamy texture. The acidity of the Cariñena Nativa is wonderfully mild, making this wine delightfully smooth. The finish of this well age-worthy red wine from the Aragón wine-growing region, more precisely from Cariñena DO, is ultimately impressive with its considerable length. Vinification of the Cariñena Nativa from Care Family Vineyards

The basis for the powerful Cariñena Nativa from Aragón is grapes of the Carignan variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Aragón. Here, the vines drive their roots deep into soils of limestone, slate, and gravel. The berries for this Spanish red wine are harvested exclusively by hand once they are perfectly ripe. After the hand harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Cariñena Nativa is aged for another 8 months in barriques made of oak.

This red wine from Spain is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C. It is a perfect companion to potato pan with salmon, lamb ragout with chickpeas and dried figs, or boiled veal topside with beans and tomatoes.
