Catena Chardonnay - Catena Zapata

Catena Zapata's Catena Chardonnay from Argentina's Mendoza wine region is a varietally pure, refined white wine full of character. 

In the glass, this wine shimmers with a greenish-yellow color and sparkling highlights.  This white wine unfolds a unique bouquet and flavor profile that expresses the character traits of each vineyard. Ripe tropical fruit aromas (figs) and lush texture from the vines of La Pirámide Vineyard, blend with white stone and pit fruit aromas (peach, pear) and animating citrus notes from the vines of Domingo Vineyard. Vibrant floral notes of white flowers, a strong mineral character and fresh, crisp acidity from the vines of the Adrianna Vineyard round out this balanced, concentrated Argentine white wine with a clean mouthfeel.

Vinification of the Catena Zapata Chardonnay

The Catena Chardonnay is one of the best New World Chardonnays in its price range! This wine cleverly reflects the character traits of the different vineyards.

After careful hand harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery where they are pressed whole. Fermentation of this wine takes place in both stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels (sur lie). 40% do not undergo malolactic fermentation. Finally, this wine rounds off for 10 months in French oak barrels.

Serve this dry white wine from Argentina with strong seafood dishes such as shrimp with herb risotto, dishes with sauce nantua or poultry dishes.
