More information about Chardonnay Vineyard Selection - Kleine Zalze

The barrel-aged Chardonnay Vineyard Selection from the Coastal winegrowing region reveals a dense golden yellow color in the glass. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from South Africa reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of quince, lemongrass, pomelo and pink grapefruit, rounded off by cigar box, oak and toasted barrique contributed by the barrel aging.

Kleine Zalze Chardonnay Vineyard Selection delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 6.3 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the high quality wine range, this South African naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Taste does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the tongue, this punchy white wine is characterized by a tremendously creamy texture. With its lively fruit acidity, the Chardonnay Vineyard Selection is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. The final of this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region Coastal Region, more precisely from Stellenbosch, finally thrilled with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Kleine Zalze Chardonnay Vineyard Selection

The basis for the powerful Chardonnay Vineyard Selection from Coastal Region are grapes from the grape variety Chardonnay. After the grape harvest, the grapes are taken to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. This is followed by fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Chardonnay Vineyard Selection is aged for several months in French oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Kleine Zalze Chardonnay Vineyard Selection

Drink this white wine from South Africa ideally well chilled at 8 - 10°C as a companion to coconut-lime fish curry, roasted trout with ginger pear or fruity endive salad.
