More information about Collio Sauvignon Blanc DOC - Marco Felluga

The Collio Sauvignon Blanc from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass with a bright pale yellow color. If you give it some air by swirling it in the glass, you can perceive a perfect balance in this white wine, as it neither appears watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. Poured into a white wine glass, this Old World white wine shows wonderfully youthful aromas of gooseberry and elderflower, rounded off by pepper.

On the palate, the Collio Sauvignon Blanc from Marco Felluga opens wonderfully dry, firm, and aromatic. Balanced and complex, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. The finish of this youthful white wine from the Friuli-Venezia Giulia wine-growing region, more precisely from Collio Goriziano / Collio DOC, ultimately delights with a remarkable length. The aftertaste is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay- and limestone-dominated soils.

Vinification of Marco Felluga Collio Sauvignon Blanc

This well-balanced white wine from Italy is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into soils of limestone and clay. Naturally, the Collio Sauvignon Blanc is also shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of Collio Goriziano / Collio DOC. This Italian can quite literally be described as an Old World wine that presents itself as exceptionally youthful. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house. There they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for Collio Sauvignon Blanc by Marco Felluga

This Italian wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It pairs perfectly as an accompanying wine with chickpea curry, leek soup, or stuffed cabbage rolls.
