The Cornalin from La Vrille in the Aosta Valley offers a bright, ruby-red color in the swirled glass. The first nose of the Cornalin enchants with notes of blackberries. Additional fruity-balsamic nuances join the fruity aspects of the bouquet.

On the palate, La Vrille’s Cornalin starts wonderfully dry, grippy, and aromatic. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced red wine presents itself as wonderfully velvety, meaty, and dense. On the finish, this red wine from the Aosta Valley wine-growing region finally delights with a beautiful length. Hints of blackberry appear once again. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the sand-dominated soils are added.

Vinification of Cornalin by La Vrille

This red wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Cornalin. For this wonderfully balanced varietal wine from La Vrille, only first-class grape material was used. In the Aosta Valley, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on sandy soils. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation has ended, the Cornalin can continue to harmonize for 17 months on the fine lees.

Food recommendation for La Vrille Cornalin

This Italian red wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to boiled veal topside with beans and tomatoes, stuffed bell peppers, or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
