The basis for the well-balanced Dornenvogel Zweigelt from Austria is grapes of the Zweigelt variety. In Lower Austria, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. Dornenvogel Zweigelt is an Old World wine through and through, as this Austrian breathes an exceptional European charm that clearly underscores the success of wines from the Old World. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly brought to the press house, where they are sorted and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Dornenvogel Zweigelt is aged for another 12 months in oak barriques.
