More information about Dornfelder trocken - Weingut Manz

The Dornfelder from Weingut Manz in Rheinhessen presents a bright, purple color in the wine glass. The nose of this red wine from Rheinhessen seduces with aromas of mulberry, plum, blackberry and morello cherry.Just its fruity nature makes this wine so special.

The Weingut Manz Dornfelder presents itself to the wine enthusiast wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine beyond the 4-euro mark. On the tongue, this balanced red wine is characterized by an incredibly velvety texture. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Dornfelder flatters with a soft palate feeling, without lacking freshness. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of Rheinhessen finally inspires with good length. Again, hints of black cherry and morello cherry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the clay and marl dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Dornfelder from Weingut Manz

The balanced Dornfelder from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the Dornfelder grape variety. In Rheinhessen, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of clay and marl. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months in oak barrels.
