More information about Grauburgunder - Jakob Schneider

The barrel-aged Pinot Gris from the wine-growing region the Nahe shows in the glass in bright copper gold. This single-varietal German wine shows in the glass wonderfully youthful and fragrant notes of quince and mirabelle. This is joined by hints of other fruits.

This wine delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 4.6 grams of residual sugar. This is a real quality wine, which clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so this German wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all dryness. Aroma does not necessarily need residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp and melting. Due to its lively fruit acidity, the Pinot Gris is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Nahe finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of quince and mirabelle appear.

Vinification of the Pinot Gris from Jakob Schneider

The balanced Pinot Gris from Germany is a single-varietal wine, pressed from the grape variety Pinot Gris. After harvesting, the grapes quickly reach the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation then takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally drawn into bottles.

Food recommendation for the Jakob Schneider Pinot Gris

Drink this white wine from Germany best well chilled at 8 - 10°C as a companion to chickpea curry, potato pan with salmon or cod with cucumber-mustard vegetables.
