More information about Grauburgunder trocken - Rings

The elegant Pinot Gris Rings flows into the glass with bright copper gold. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from the Old World offers wonderfully expressive aromas of gooseberry, apple, quince and white currant, rounded off by lovage, juniper and bitter chocolate, which the aging in wooden barrels contributes.

The Rings Pinot Gris impresses with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with only 2.8 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in the upper price range, this German wine naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require sugar. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Pinot Gris is fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally inspires with considerable length. There are again hints of gooseberry and nashi pear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by loess and gravel join in.

Vinification of the Rings Pinot Gris

The basis for the balanced Pinot Gris from the Palatinate are grapes from the grape variety Pinot Gris. In the Palatinate, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of loess and gravel. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for Pinot Gris are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are taken to the press house by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks and large wood at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Pinot Gris from Rings

Enjoy this white wine from Germany ideally moderately chilled at 11 - 13°C as an accompanying wine to vegetable salad with beetroot, roasted trout with ginger pear or omelet with salmon and fennel.
