More information about Haus Klosterberg Riesling trocken - Markus Molitor
The light-footed Haus Klosterberg Riesling from Markus Molitor flows into the glass with a brilliant pale yellow. The Markus Molitor Haus Klosterberg Riesling delights with its elegantly dry flavor profile. It was bottled with only 7.3 grams of residual sugar. As one would naturally expect from a wine in the high-quality wine range, this German wine enchants despite its dryness with a very fine balance. Tastes do not necessarily require a lot of sugar. Due to its vibrant fruit acidity, the Haus Klosterberg Riesling presents itself on the palate in a wonderfully fresh and lively manner.
Vinification of Markus Molitor's Haus Klosterberg Riesling
The basis for the elegant Haus Klosterberg Riesling from the Mosel are grapes of the Riesling variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions along the Mosel. The vines have deep roots in soils made of slate. What is extraordinary about the origin of this top wine by Markus Molitor is the fact that the grapes thrive on steep slate terraces in the Mosel. This traditional way of vineyard management is unfortunately very labor-intensive and therefore rarely encountered today. At the point of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Haus Klosterberg Riesling are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective harvesters. After manual harvest, the grapes are quickly transferred to the winery. Here they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the Haus Klosterberg Riesling can harmonize further for several months on the fine lees.
