More information about Marte - Salizzoni
In the glass, Marte from the Salizzoni estate displays a bright ruby-red color. This Italian cuvée flatters the nose in the glass with wonderfully complex notes of blueberry, sour cherry, plum, and currant. Added to this are nuances of garrigue, forest floor, and bilberry.
Salizzoni Marte presents itself to the connoisseur as wonderfully dry. This red wine never appears coarse or lean, but rather round and smooth. On the palate, this well-balanced red wine is characterized by an exceptionally dense, velvety, and fleshy texture. On the finish, this wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of blackberry and raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Marte by Salizzoni
This balanced red wine from Italy is blended from the Marzemino and Teroldego grape varieties. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are brought to the winery as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the elegant Marte is matured for another 12 months in oak barrels.
Food pairing for Salizzoni Marte
This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15–18°C. It is perfectly suited as an accompanying wine to goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram, ossobuco, or braised chicken in red wine.
