More information about Movado Gewürztraminer Alto Adige DOC - Cantina Andrian
The Gewürztraminer Alto Adige from Cantina Andrian in Trentino-Alto Adige reveals a dense, copper-golden color in the swirled glass. When the glass is swirled, this white wine reveals high viscosity, which shows in pronounced church windows on the rim of the glass. This varietal Italian wine caresses the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of roses and oranges. There are also hints of vanilla.
The Cantina Andrian Gewürztraminer Alto Adige presents itself to wine enthusiasts as wonderfully dry. This white wine never appears coarse or austere, but rather round and smooth. Powerful and multi-layered, this creamy white wine presents itself on the palate. Thanks to the balanced acidity, the Gewürztraminer Alto Adige flatters the palate with a pleasing feel, without lacking freshness. On the finish, this youthful white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region delights with considerable length. Again, hints of rose and orange appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the limestone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Gewürztraminer Alto Adige from Cantina Andrian
This wine clearly focuses on a single grape variety, namely Gewürztraminer. For this exceptionally powerful varietal wine from Cantina Andrian, only the best grape material was harvested. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Trentino-Alto Adige. Here, the vines sink their roots deep into limestone soils. Without question, the Gewürztraminer Alto Adige is also shaped by the climate and winemaking style of Alto Adige / Südtirol DOC. In the best sense of the word, this Italian can be described as an Old World wine that presents itself in an exceptionally impressive manner. After hand-picking, the grapes are quickly brought to the winery. There they are selected and gently crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Gewürztraminer Alto Adige can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 6 months.
