More information about Pinot Noir - Maximin Grünhaus

In the glass, the Pinot Noir of Maximin Grünhaus reveals a dense light red color. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high density and richness, which is evident in church windows at the edge of the glass. This single varietal German wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of blackberries, plums, prunes and blueberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.

This red from Maximin Grünhaus is perfect for all wine lovers who like it dry. However, it is never sparse or brittle, but round and smooth. This fleshy and silky red wine is full-bodied and multi-layered on the palate. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Pinot Noir flatters the palate with a soft feeling, without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this storable red wine from the Mosel wine-growing region finally inspires with beautiful length. There are again hints of plum and black currant. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the slate-dominated soils join in.

Vinification of the Pinot Noir from Maximin Grünhaus

The basis for the powerful Pinot Noir from Mosel are grapes from the Pinot Noir grape variety. In the Moselle, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of slate. After harvesting, the grapes reach the press house by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pinot Noir is aged for several months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Pinot Noir from Maximin Grünhaus
