More information about Pinotage - Bon Courage

With the Bon Courage Pinotage, a first-class red wine comes into the swirled glass. In this, it presents a wonderfully dense, crimson color. Held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet red hue at the rims. The Pinotage's initial nose reveals nuances of plums, black cherries and morello cherries. The fruity components of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging such as even more fruity balsamic nuances.

This red from Bon Courage is perfect for all wine enthusiasts who like it dry. However, it never shows itself to be sparse or brittle, as one might naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range. On the palate, the texture of this powerful red wine is wonderfully dense. With its vital fruit acidity, the Pinotage reveals itself to be exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. The finish of this red wine from the Breede River Valley wine-growing region, more precisely from Robertson, which is capable of aging well, is finally convincing with considerable reverberation.

Vinification of the Pinotage from Bon Courage

The powerful Pinotage from South Africa is a single-varietal wine, made from the Pinotage grape variety. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for Pinotage are harvested exclusively by hand, without the help of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, the Pinotage is aged for another 12 months in French oak barriques.

Food recommendation for Bon Courage Pinotage

This South African wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15-18°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to leek soup, vegetable stew with pesto or goose breast with ginger red cabbage and marjoram.
