A multi-layered Negroamaro. In the glass there are aromas of wild blackberries, sweet mocha and chocolate notes and a medium-present tannin. Certainly an adequate wine with wild boar or venison.

More information about SUD Negroamaro - Cantine San Marzano

The SUD Negroamaro from Cantine San Marzano in the Italian wine-growing region of Apulia is a pure and harmonious red wine.

In the glass, this wine shimmers a dark purple red with violet reflections. The bouquet reveals deep and warm aromas of dark berries, as well as fig, vanilla and baobab notes. Leather and black cherry can also be detected. Velvety tannins wet the palate. Here too, the full fruit of this Italian red wine unfolds alongside spicy hints of balsamic spices. The finish of this full-bodied red wine is particularly persistent and balanced.

Vinification of the Negroamaro Cantine San Marzano SUD

Only the estate's own vineyards are selected for this red wine. The limestone soil has a low nutrient content. This increases the quality of the harvest, as the nature of the terroir naturally reduces the yield.

After pressing, the grapes are fermented on the skins for 10 days. The wine is then matured in French oak barriques for 4 months.

Dining recommendations for the Cantine San Marzano SUD Negroamaro

Pair this Negroamaro at a serving temperature of 16 - 18 °C with antipasti, braised vegetables and meat, as well as dried fruit, nuts and baklava or saffron-flavored desserts.
