More information about Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore DOC - Monte Zovo

If you swirl it to give it a little air, this red wine reveals great density and richness, which shows in pronounced “church windows” on the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Monte Zovo reveals aromas of morello cherries, mulberries, black cherries, blackcurrants and lavender, complemented by gingerbread spice, vanilla and oriental spices. This Italian wine delights with its elegantly dry taste profile. It was bottled with 7.5 grams of residual sugar. As you would naturally expect from a premium single-vineyard wine, this Italian, for all its dryness, enchants with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require residual sugar. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an extremely velvety texture. Thanks to its balanced acidity, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore caresses the palate with a pleasing mouthfeel, while not lacking in freshness. The finish of this youthful red wine from the Veneto wine-growing region, more precisely from the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC, finally delights with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from Monte Zovo

The powerful Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore from Italy is a cuvée vinified from the grape varieties Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Naturally, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is also shaped by the climatic and stylistic factors of the Valpolicella Ripasso DOC. This Italian can in the best sense of the word be described as an Old World wine, which presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive way. After the grape harvest, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are selected and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and large wooden casks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation is complete, the Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore is matured for a further 18 months in oak barrels.
