Weißburgunder 1,5l Magnum - Klumpp

Vinification of the Klumpp Pinot Blanc 1,5l Magnum

This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Pinot Blanc. Only first-class grapes were used for this wonderfully balanced single-varietal wine from Klumpp. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Baden. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of loess. Moreover, the grapes of this top wine from Klumpp do not grow in the lowlands, but dig their roots into the subsoil in steep slopes. The steep slope cultivation ensures that even in cooler regions with less long growing seasons, the vines catch a maximum of sun. Clearly, the Weißburgunder 1,5l Magnum is also determined by more than just the Bruchsal soil. This German wine can be described in the best sense of the word as an Old World wine that is exceptionally impressive. When perfectly ripe, the grapes for the Pinot Blanc 1.5l Magnum are harvested exclusively by hand without the use of punishing and barely selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes are immediately transferred to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully milled. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.

Food recommendation for the Weissburgunder 1,5l Magnum from Klumpp

This German wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to coconut-lime fish curry, wok vegetables with fish or omelet with salmon and fennel.
