More information about Zu - Torre Fornello
With Torre Fornello Zu, a first-class organic red wine enters the glass. It reveals a wonderfully dense, ruby-red color. The nose of this red wine from Emilia-Romagna seduces with hints of raspberry. Following the aromas further, licorice emerges.
On the palate, Zu from Torre Fornello opens pleasantly aromatic, fruit-driven and well-balanced. Powerful and multi-layered, this velvety, meaty and dense red wine presents itself on the palate. On the finish, this red wine from the Emilia-Romagna winegrowing region delights with a lovely length. Once again, hints of raspberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes from the clay-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of Torre Fornello Zu
The powerful Zu from Italy is a cuvée, organically produced from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Cuvée. In Emilia-Romagna, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay soils. After hand-picking, the grapes are brought to the press house as quickly as possible. There they are sorted and gently crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged for several months on the fine lees before it is finally drawn off.
