More information about 1838 Rotwein-Cuvée trocken - Bergdolt-Reif & Nett
The 1838 Cuvée from Bergdolt-Reif & Nett shows intense cherry red in the glass. On the nose, scents of morello cherries, blackberries and other berry fruits unfold. Spicy notes of light tobacco, delicate smoke, some clove and laurel as well as hints of chocolate round off the bouquet of the 1838 Cuvée harmoniously.
On the palate, this Palatinate red wine cuvée presents itself nicely dry, with good acidity and pleasant, restrained tannins. The finish is long and finely spicy with a slight hint of cocoa in the aftertaste. A convincing red wine from the pen of Christian Nett, which makes you want more.
Vinification of the Cuvée 1838 by Bergdolt-Reif & Nett
For this cuvée, Dornfelder, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Mitos were vinified together and aged in the winery's two vaulted cellars dating back to 1838. The aging took place in large wooden barrels and in barrique.
