More information about Barolo DOCG - Castello di Verduno

The powerful Barolo Castello di Verduno flows into the glass with a dense ruby red color. At the edges, this Italian red also shows a transition to garnet red. Swirling the wine glass, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in the stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. This Castello di Verduno red wine presents the nose with all kinds of black cherries, plums, prunes and morello cherries. As if that wasn't already impressive, the ageing in large wooden barrels adds further aromas such as sun-warmed stone, vanilla and black tea.

The Castello di Verduno Barolo is pleasantly dry for wine lovers. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. The finish of this well-matured red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from Barolo DOCG, is captivating with a beautiful aftertaste.

Vinification of Barolo from Castello di Verduno

This powerful Barolo from Italy is a single-varietal wine made from the Nebbiolo grape variety. Naturally, Barolo is also determined by the climate and the Barolo DOCG winegrowing style. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the truest sense of the word, with an extraordinarily impressive presentation. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation for several months in oak barrels.

Dining recommendation for Castello di Verduno Barolo

This red wine from Italy is best enjoyed at a temperature of 15 - 18°C with braised chicken in red wine, boeuf bourguignon or goose breast with ginger-red cabbage and marjoram.
