More information about Bundschuh Muskateller halbtrocken - Emil Bauer

The Bundschuh Muskateller from Emil Bauer in the Palatinate offers a brilliant, light yellow color in the glass. This single-varietal German wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of honeysuckle, lemongrass, lime and orange blossom in the glass. These are joined by hints of other fruits.

Light-footed and complex, this light white wine presents itself on the palate. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Palatinate finally inspires with considerable length. Once again, hints of white currant and orange blossom appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the limestone and loess dominated soils are added.

Vinification of the Bundschuh Muskateller by Emil Bauer

This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, Muskateller. Only the best grapes were harvested for this exceptionally elegant single-varietal wine from Emil Bauer. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate region. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay, limestone and loess. When perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Bundschuh Muskateller are harvested particularly quickly and at the coolest possible time of day to preserve their aromas. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.

Food recommendation for the Emil Bauer Bundschuh Muskateller

This German white wine is best enjoyed very well chilled at 5 - 7°C. It is perfect as an accompanying wine to spicy curry with lamb, red onion stuffed with couscous and apricots or spinach gratin with almonds.
